- bandits and heroines and kidnapping
- renaissance sort of costumes
- almost all 7th graders but possibly some range on the ages (downwards)
- lots of combat
- in the woods somewhere
- E. and her friend have made swords already for everyone (foam ones)

EDIT: cf. also Liz's report for details on the preparations and the puzzles.
The results were very chaotic, with lots of swordplay, lots of role-playing, and lots of fun. For a solid hour and a half, the woods rang with a lot of calls of "milady!" along with clashing arms.

(Just googled larp and wooden swords (though in Swedish) and came upon this page where people suggest actually making latex swords that look like wooden practise swords, so that they can larp that they are practising sword fighting with wooden swords, without the risks of actual wooden swords ... there's this sword fighty type looking guy who says he'd only recommend practise with actual wooden swords outside larp situations and with people you know well (and not for simulating fight, but for practising simulated fight, as in choregraphy like stuff. His bearded avatar picture looks a lot more like a sword fighting authority than my blue plastic spagetthi, maybe I should change my picture for discussions like these :-P )).
